377 Treasurer of Harris County, 1862 Obsolete Banknote.

Harris

County, GA. Treasurer of Harris County $5 Oct. 21, 1862. A dog lies by a

strong box on this attractive red and black $5 issue which was printed on

almost tissue-like paper resulting in a few small voids in the note, appears

VF but the paper is very thin and has a small tear on the upper left margin

and reinforcement on the back in a few small areas. Attractive. ��Est.

378 Marine Bank of Chicago Proprietary Proof Sheet.

Waterloo, Illinois,

Uncut sheet of 4 notes, ND (originally printed ca. 1850-60’s, these are

ca.1960-70’s), $5-$2-$1-$1, (IL-165-G10a; G6a; G2a; G2a), All are SENC

in Haxby, Unlisted with only American Bank Note Company imprints,

Haxby lists notes as TCC with ABNC monograms, these notes do not

have TCC or monogram, only American Bank Note Company imprints,

Modern “Proprietary Proof Sheet”, The $1 note has sailor with flag

sitting on barrel and bales on left, sailing ships at dock with men rowing

row boat on top center and state seal on LR; The $2 note has sailor and

woman with flag on left, sailing ship in full sail on top center and state

seal on LR; The $5 note has 3 allegorical women on left and impressive

steamboat and sailing ships on top center and state seal on LR, Black

printing without border and underprint printed on thin white card,

Uncirculated condition with wavy paper. ABNC. Rare as uncut sheet.

379 Bank of Jeffersonville $1 Proprietary Proof Banknote Pair on Different Colored Paper.

Jeffersonville, Indiana. Lot of 2 notes, 1858

(ca.1960-70’s), 2 examples of the $1 on different colored paper, white

paper and light cream paper, (IN-280-G2a), Modern “Proprietary

Proofs”. The proof has woman holding flowers on left and seated

allegorical woman with ships in middle, Choice to Gem Uncirculated

condition. WH&W. Archival “Proprietary” proofs. �������������������Est.

380 State Bank of Indiana, 1840 Obsolete Banknote with related Legal Documents.

Indianapolis, IN. Lot of 4 items, Includes $20,

State Bank of Indiana in Good to VG missing the lower left corner,

with accompanying lawsuit that it was originally attached to claiming

the note is counterfeit and was included as evidence. Also included is

a pair of Counterfeit detector pages that has illustrations of banknotes

circulating at the time to distinguish counterfeits from authentic notes.

Most good to VG condition with toning and small faults. �����������Est.
