18xx (ca.1830’s), $5000, Plate C, NY-1745-Unlisted denomination, Haxby
lists only up to $1000 for this bank, Only one previous noted in census,
Proof banknote, Banknote printed in black on india paper, Sailing ship
in full sail on top middle flanked by large 5000 medallion counters and
on top corners, standing allegorical woman with anchor and woman
with pole and Liberty Cap and cornucopia on the end panels, large 5000
medallions on upper left and right corners, Very light glue stain spots
on sides, a few internal pre-printing paper folds and a small hole on in
the middle right area that is difficult to see as well as a small tear on
the left margin, still a marvelous note that is missing from almost every
advanced collection. Rawdon, Wright & Hatch New York imprint. A
