173 Tientsin Merchants Association, Pack of 10,000 Russian Ruble Banknotes used in China, ca.1917 Tientsin Issue Rarity.

盧布紙幣一包共一萬元

Tientsin, China, 10,000 Rubles, Russia,

P-37, package of 10 issued banknotes, mostly AU to Uncirculated and

sequential, with seals and previously enclosed in an envelope with

Chinese text for a total of 10,000 Rubles for usage in Tientsin China.

Prepared by Tientsin Merchants Association for the usage in China. The

envelope has purple oval seals with English “Kung I Hui Hua” overprints,

The red text on the back cover describes the purpose and regulation of

this package, and the small seal reads “ten thousand”. Unique usage

of Russian banknotes to circulate in China.

福建福安縣勝易豐壹圓錢莊票

Fujian

Province, China. A private banknote issued by the Shengyifeng Bank in

Shangbaishi Town, Fu’an County, Fujian Province. No date or number.

The text in the center reads “Please pay the bearer 1 foreign silver crown

coin”. The back side shows a silver dollar image in the center, with two

scenery panels on both sides. The bottom text on the back side says “we

do business honestly”

. 福建福安縣上白石勝易豐壹圓錢莊票一張,

無年份與號碼。中間文字為“憑票支番銀壹圓”。背面中央為

袁像壹圓銀幣正面圖,兩側為風景圖。最下方文字為“信義通

商”。

(Wen). 20 Copper Coins (each copper coin equivalent to 20 Wen) Back

states “that this note can only be used to purchase goods in the open

Shanghai, China. A 100 Yuan coupon

issued by the Dahu Club ran by Daguang Company, Shanghai. The face

depicts Shanghai street view along the Huangpu River. Serial number is

203520. Purple chops on the face might be “TAX50” and “23 MAY 1944”.

The back side has regulations, as well as a seal reading “Shanghai Bureau

of Finance Entertainment Tax”.

177 Shanxi, Taiyuan Produce Sales Co., Exchanging Note, 1 Yuan, 1934.

山西太原兌換土貨券1934年一元

China. A temporary coupon

issued by the Taiyuan Economy Committee in Shanxi in 1934, printed

by Northwestern Printing. The center of the face shows a building, and

top left and right show serial number of 0405509. Information of the

issuer, date and printer are shown on bottom. Text on the back indicated

that the exchanging rate is the same as silver dollars. Date and manager

signatures are shown on the back as well. Red text on back said “issued

by Taiyuan Produce Sales Co.”

太原經濟建設委員會於1934年所發

行之兌換土貨券壹元,西北印刷廠印製。正面中央為樓房圖,

上方兩側有流水號0105509.

下方有發行者、時間及印刷廠信

息。背面上方有“券面兌物價額與七二銀元相等”字樣,下方

紅字為“太原土貨產銷合作商行”。
