29mm. Bronze. Portrait bust of General Andrew Jackson in full uni-
form facing right on the obverse. On the reverse two allegorical fe-
male figures fight over a victory laurel wreath. Suspended on a red,
white and blue ribbon. Scarce. Almost Uncirculated, with a great

1440 Rare Confederate Stonewall Jackson Medal.
1863. “Stonewall”
Jackson medal. Tin, 50 mm. Almost Uncirculated. Struck in Paris
before the end of theCivilWar fromdies byArmandCaque, and per-
haps funded by Confederate subscriptions. A handsome example
with glossy white surfaces beneath light toning throughout. NGC
graded MS 63. There is a bruise on the surface of the obverse rim,
mentioned only for the sake of accuracy, as the overall appearance
is quite compelling. One of the 100 Greatest American Medals and
Tokens and one of the few affordable original Confederate-era nu-
mismatic items available to collectors. ������������������������������Est.
