Photograph.
New York, 1906, Samuel L. Clemens (signs as Mark
Twain on letter to a Miss Faith Baldwin of Brooklyn, Black and white
photograph of an older Samuel Clemens on left. Photo and letter
are matted and framed. Clemens (1835<1910), better known by his
pen name, is the American author of such notable novels as “The
Adventures of Tom Sawyer” (1876), and its sequel, “Adventures of
Huckleberry Finn” (1885). Twain is honored with an asteroid named
after him, a U.S postage stamp was issued for him, along with
numerous statues and historical sites throughout the
country.
