Carolina (SC), $1000 Shares, March 6, 1863, S/N 49, Issued stock cer-
tificate, 7.5 x 5.5 inches, signed by William C. Bee as president, Fine
to VF condition, William Bee and a group of other investors had
formed the Importing & Exporting Company soon after the block-
ade was established in April 1861. Bee took personal charge of the
company, purchasing among other things the steamer Cecile to run
goods in and out of city. Historic certificate. .............

text with steamship in middle and small dog on bottom. The certifi-
cate has toning, but is intact and is very attractive and would grade
VG+ to Fine. After the war, most Blockade runner companies took
care of their investors, however Consolidated president, Henry Hart,
fled for New York claiming he had no liability since the business was
illegal under United States law. Signed by Hart as president. Rare
