original hand drawn and colored portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on 8
x 5 inch advertising card, Plants flank portrait with purple border on
m/c with intaglio engraved border pieces glued to the borders of the
illustration, Waterlow & Sons title on top with “Coronation Year
1953” under portrait of queen, detailed archival notations on side
and back of card, extremely attractive Waterlow advertising note
design. Fleury, an artist and designer for Waterlow & Sons, is known
for designing stamps for the 1935 King George V Silver Jubilee Issue
for England as well as a 1935 Portugal 1000 Escudos Note and a
number of Czechoslovakian banknotes used in the 1940’s and also
other banknotes and stamps. Rare and unique artwork from this
well known Waterlow & Sons artist. XF condition with light mount-
ing stains and glue remnants in a couple of small areas on back.

card, black, brown and olive green with portrait facing left with
name “Robert Broo?” drawn under portrait, with “5” numerals on
left and right, “European......” on top, possibly a back for proposed
banknote or advertising piece, extremely attractive Waterlow

card on front and back. Included are images workers, horses, ship at
dock and a possible letterhead or advertising piece for Robinsons
Buckley, also included are 6 drawings of allegorical women in vari-
