449 The American Bond Detector and Complete History of all the United States Government Securities, ca.1869.

1869. Leather

Bound edition, with some minor archival restoration is one of the finest

editions your describer has seen to date. While some minor foxing exists

within the description section of the leather bound text, the 22 original

plates still boast superb illustrations, in the genuine tints, printed at the

U.S. Treasury Department from their original dies. The bonds depicted

were issued under the Acts of Congress from July 17, 1861 to March 3,

1868. Seldom seen, this edition should see some spirited bidding from

currency/bond and coin collectors alike. Est.
