China, 1923, Central Bank of China, $1, P-171a Unlisted issued note with

Specimen overprints, Green on m/c, SYS at center, back blue, POC’s,

S/N 150093 with Specimen overprints, Upper left corner has been

clipped off. This is the Plate note from Pogrebetsky’s personal reference

collection. It was the photographed plate note from his rare Chinese

banknote book from 1929. Includes the original page from his book.

S/M#C76-131, Issued, Dark black-brown on m/c, S/N A490639, VF

condition with 5 very small pin holes and tape remnants on top left and

right margin. Includes the original page from his book picturing the note

in this lot. This is the Plate note from Pogrebetsky’s personal reference

collection and it is photographed in his rare Chinese banknote book

published in Harbin in 1929. A unique and historic reference item that is

Ltd., “Shanghai” Branch Issue, 1 Yuan, P-573a S/M#C22-1a, Issued,

Black on m/c, mandarin at right, S/N 10820, Crisp VF to Choice VF

with tape remnants on the top back left and right border; 1924 National

Industrial Bank of China, “Shanghai” Branch Issue, 1 Yuan, P-525a

S/M#C291-1c, Issued, brown on m/c, horse at left, back brown with

Great Wall, S/N 017076, VF to Choice VF with stamp hinges on the top

left and right face that can be removed easily; 1921 China & South Sea

Bank, Ltd., “Shanghai” Branch Issue with “Chairman” overprint, 1 Yuan,

P-121a S/M#C295-1a, Issued, Green on m/c, S/N AM688321, Crisp VF

to Choice VF with tape remnants on the top left and right border with

a rough lower left edge; and 1920 Commercial Bank of China, 1 Yuan,

P-1a S/M#C293-40, Black on m/c, Worthy at center, back green with

supporting lions, S/N A222301 with letter “H” on face and back, Choice

XF to AU with 2 pin holes on the top right corner and tape remnants

on the top left and right margin on the face. Includes the original page

from his book picturing all of the notes in this lot. All 4 of these notes

are the Plate notes from Pogrebetsky’s personal reference collection and

are the photographed plate notes from his rare Chinese banknote book

published in Harbin in 1929. A unique and historic reference item that is
