293 Martin Luther Die Pair, 1883

Martin Luther, 400th Anniversary of

Birth, 1483-1883. Luther bust; Man being burned at the stake. Legend

in German. Signed R. Laubenheimer under bust. 42mm surface area

in 64mm octagonal shank. One 51mm tall the other 60mm. Coated

with bees wax, however there is slight rust on the surface area of the

designs, as well as on the shank. Bold image of a popular subject. 2

GoodShepardMedal die pair. Jesus with

Lamb, bible. Vertical oval design. Two steel shanks with octagonal

sides. Coated with bees wax for protection. 25x39mm image area

on 50mm surface. One is 48mm tall, the other 43mm. Slight rust

on shank surfaces, none on die design area. Also includes 7 struck

Man standing behind

kneeling female. Tabs on back for mounting. 40x53mm; Putti and

grape fine on bar, engraved rectangle; circular florate disc; Putti

riding eagle; Female bust right in griffon topped helmet; Cupid in

flight; Nike standing on globe. A variety of sizes. 8 pieces.�Est.
