75 City of New Orleans, State of Louisiana, 1869 Specimen Bond.

New Orleans, LA. 1st March, 1869, $50 Specimen Coupon Bond,

“Issued in Conformity with section 1st of an “Act of the State Legis-

lature” Approved 27th February 1969, Black on orange-yellow bor-

der, Official looking building in middle top with standing allegorical

women on right and state arms at bottom. Appears Fine but there

are a number of archivally reinforced margins and fold due to small

splits, otherwise, this amazing bond was the only specimen of this

variety found in the archives. Issued during the Reconstruction Pe-

riod right after the Civil War. Historic post Civil War bond by ABNC.

76 Louisiana Certificate of Claim, 1876 Bond.

Louisiana and London,

England. 6% Loan of the State of Louisiana (Authorized under an

act approved 13th March 1837), $400, which represents compensa-

tion claim of the bond holder for Certificate #385 originally issued

for $1000 and is now converted into a 7% bond with a 60% discount

to the original face value. Issued in London by the Council of For-

eign Bondholders. Scarce denomination. VF-XF. ���������������Est.

mise Bond) 1882 Specimen Used as Model.

Tennessee, 1882,

$1000, Specimen bond used as a model for a different type of bond,

Black on green underprint, Statehouse on top, portrait of distin-

guished man with beard top right, the portrait on the top left was

removed, Mining handwritten on top right and Cotton on top left,

“Settlement” hand written on title with “Compromise” crossed out.

Corrections also in text of bond and on the panel. VF with splits at

folds between coupons and bond. Franklin BNC. Unique as a bond
