China,

1897, 9 Quian 1 Chuan, P-Unlisted, Issued, Brown on dark gray-green on

face with sailing-steamship on top, red chop marks and overprints, back

green with horse drawn carriage over temple and courtyard scene, also

with red overprints, Choice Fine to VF condition. The denomination is a

special denomination used during the Guang-Xu Period. Scarce and large

Director”. Notice on the back reads “ this note has same usage as the

previous 1 yuan note. 50 of this note could be exchanged into 10 yuan
