Gruber, New York Apothecary token good for one draw with designation F-630AG-1a. All are in fine to XF condition. Hatters Merchant token, Allegorical liberty with “Dodd” in headpiece, “Cincinnati, Main St.” surrounding, 144 at bottom. Reverse features an eagle with American shield. Rare trade token. Fine to VF condition. ������������������������������� Est. $50-100 U.S. 1035 1035 Collection of Early American Coins, ca. 1798-1880s U.S., Lot of 6 coins, Includes: 1798 Large U.S. Cent in poor condition, difficult to see details from wear; 1789 Connecticut copper coin, difficult to see details; 1853, 3 Cent silver coin, The three-cent coin was proposed in 1851 both as a result of the decrease in postage rates from five cents to three and to answer the need for a small-denomination, easy-to-handle coin. The three-cent silver featured a shield on a six-sided star on the obverse and the Roman numeral III on the reverse; 1865, 2 Cent coin, Obverse with shield, Reverse with wheat wreath. The economic turmoil of the American Civil War caused government-issued coins, even the non-silver Indian Head cent, to vanish from circulation, hoarded by the public. One means of filling this gap was private token issues, often made of bronze; 1876 coin, Obverse with seated liberty, reverse with difficult to decipher marks; 18-- Trinidad Chapter No. 28 1 Penny coin, may be from a Freemason Chapter in Trinidad, Colorado. Lot of 2 medals. One is a Mexican Border Service medal for members of the United States Navy. Green, yellow, and green ribbon, Sword with “For Service on the Mexican Border” on obverse, Eagle on reverse with “United States Navy” at top. The Mexican Border Service Medal was a United States military award which was established by an act of the United States Congress on July 9, 1918. The medal was awarded for service between May 9, 1916 and March 24, 1917, or with the Mexican Border Patrol between January 1, 1916 to April 6, 1917. The medal recognizes those military service members who were assigned to the U.S.-Mexico border at the period of time when the United States was on the verge of all-out war with Mexico. Second medal is a China Service medal, yellow and red ribbon, Chinese junk depicted on obverse, reverse features eagle with “United States Marine Corps” at top. The China Service Medal was a service medal awarded to U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard personnel. The medal recognized service in and around China before and after World War II. The Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) is a military award presented to members of the United States Armed Forces who distinguished themselves by outstanding meritorious achievement or service to the United States subsequent to January 16, 1969; Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, red and navy ribbon, anchor with allegorical man on obverse, “Fidelity, Zeal, Obedience” on reverse. The Good Conduct Medal is one of the oldest military awards of the United States Armed Forces; WWI Veteran of Foreign Wars medal, 4 pointed star, Great Seal of the United States in circle on obverse, reverse has “Veterans of Foreign Wars” in circle; and an A.U.S.W.V. medal, orange, white and red ribbon, Ornate medal, connected by a pair of chains to a circle with 7 pointed star, National Auxiliary U.S.W.V. at center, blank obverse.
