Four pieces of unissued Warrick & Stanger merchant scrip, all printed in black, with blank reverses. These were payable in merchandise at the counter of their store. The 25c has a handshake central vignette. The 50c has a dog central vignette. The $1.00 has a horse and wagon loaded with hay central vignette. Pair of Obsolete Notes. Gloucester City, NJ. Lot of 2 Notes, Includes 10 cents & 25 cents, 1860’s, Wait 691 & 692, R-6. Two scrip pieces, both unissued. Both are printed in green. The reverse of both pieces has a denomination counter in red. Although listed in Wait as an unknown issuer, the issuer is supposedly C. Roberts. Both notes have an eagle on shield central vignette, and a small woman swimming vignette at the lower left. ���������������������������������������������������������� Est. $75-150 Hackensack 470 470 Washington Banking Co. 1833. Trio of Obsolete Notes. Hackensack, NJ. Lot of 3 Notes, Includes $1, $2, & $5, 1833, Wait 710, 713, & 719, R-4. Three issued notes, all printed in black with blank reverses. The Washington Banking Co. was incorporated in 1824 as the Weehawken Banking Co. The bank moved to Hackensack and became the Washington Banking Co. in 1825. It closed in 1833. The $1 note(Wait 710); $2 note(Wait 713); $5 note(Wait 719) all have Samson and the lion vignette and a small oval Washington portrait vignette. Hackettstown, NJ. $20, 18xx, Wait 735, Haxby NJ-185-G-12, R-7. The Hackettstown Bank was incorporated in 1854. This a proof note, with the ABNC purple stamp on the otherwise blank reverse with some bleed through on the face. It corresponds closely to Haxby’s NJ-185-G12, except for the imprint(which Haxby lists as Baldwin Adams & Co.). Milkmaids and cows central vignette. A portrait of a child is at the lower left, and a portrait of a woman is at the lower right. The note appears in Choice Uncirculated or better condition. BBC-BCC. Scarce note. Trio of Obsolete Notes. Hoboken, NJ. Lot of 3 Notes, Includes $2, $3, & $6, 1826-1861, Wait 777, 780, & Unlisted, R-2. Three pieces. The two banknotes are both issued, black printing and uniface. The Hoboken Banking & Grazing Co. was incorporated in 1823, and lasted less than ten years. The third piece in this lot is a $6.00 Relief Warrant issued to families of volunteers for the Civil War by the Treasurer of the City of Hoboken. Undoubtedly a rare item, it is unlisted in Wait, dated July 16, 1861, and printed in light blue. AU to CU condition. A.B. & C. Durand Wright & Co.
