Banco De Mexico, DuraNote Polymer Paper 20th Anniversary of the Fabrica de Billetes. Printed on DuraNote plastic polymer paper, not regular paper. Includes one complete note and a portion of 1 other. Printed in burgundy red with portrait of Don Rodrigo Gomez at right and Banco de Mexico building in middle. “Muestra Sin Valor” printed on right border. Color stripes on back as a security feature. Appears choice to Gem Uncirculated. This DuraNote Proof was part of an experimental test for using a petroleum alternative to paper by using petroleum based polymer substrate paper. This was a project by Mobil Oil Company that was abandoned when the company was acquired by Exxon in the late 1990s. ................................
