Checks are in VF to XF condition. These checks were issued during the final year of Dakota Territory banking before South Dakota achieved statehood in 1889, reflecting the growth of established financial institutions in a frontier region transitioning toward state governance. Territorial-era banking paper from local communities like Canton is sought after for its connection to settlement, agricultural development, and the rapid expansion of national banking networks in the northern plains. Specimen POC checks from the 1970s to 1980s printed by ABNC, with carbon copies and detachable receipt cards; one Rogers Peet Co. Specimen merchandise order certificate, 1930s, Boston and New York; and six Gulf Oil Corp. I/U checks and registers from 1954 to 1957 connected to Texas oil and gas royalty payments.
