Lot of 3 polymer Sample notes, Includes a U.K., Polymer Progress Proof of a De La Rue Giori S.A. - Varinota test note on thick DuraNote polymer paper; DuraNote 20 denomination progress test proof, fully printed in blue on the obverse, the reverses printed with an underprint only that has an intricate design, there is also a hand written note in red ink “Red & Yellow - 3 Ply” referring to the DuraNote material used on this note; and, a fully printed DuraNote with a modern ocean oil platform with “100” denomination and different security devices with the reverse with a horse drawn oil tank. All of the notes are in Gem to superb Gem Uncirculated condition. The notes were part of a project from Mobil Oil for testing petroleum based hydrocarbon polymer paper for printing banknotes. The project was terminated once they merged with Exxon. All are in Choice to Gem Uncirculated or better condition. All are from the Mobil Oil Archives. Telecom USA, Inc. was a telecommunications company that operated primarily in the United States. It was known for providing long-distance telephone services to residential and business customers. Telecom USA was founded in the 1980s and was a significant player in the telecom industry during the 1990s. Erie Canal Celebration Ball, 1825, Invitation Proof by Durand &Wright. Erie, New York, 1828. Lot of 2 items, includes Proof Initiation issued by the Corporation of the City of New York inviting participation in the celebrations for the completion of the Grand Canal. The text announces a meeting at the City Hall and proceeding together in a steam boat at Sandy Hook. The piece prominently references the Grand Canal and notes its completion on 26 October 1825. The invitation features engraved ornamental typography and allegorical imagery, including a central vignette and seals. Condition appears Uncirculated to CU condition.
