1022 Miniature Civil War Bible and Civil War Letter.

Soldier’s pocket

bible. Black. 3 ¾” x 2 ¼”. Tucked away inside the bible is a 1 ¼” oval

sepia image of General P Kerney, a G. A. R. lecture card dated 1869

and other assorted items. Stamped letter from James Higgs, Com-

pany D, 61st Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Division, 6 Corps, Wash-

ington, DC. Addressed toGeorgeW. Price, New Brunswick, NJ. Dat-

ed July 6, 1864. “This little Testament was picked up on the Battle

field in the Wilderness……” “….on opening it I found a request that

if found it should be sent to you.” “Please let me knowwhether your

brother is safe or not.” The letter is pretty much intact, but repaired
