MN, ND (ca.1880;s), Wallblom & Thoorsell Baseball
Ad Note. “Green seal on face “Members of the Chicago Baseball
Club”, Batter at right and portrait of A.G Spalding on left, back
with portraits and names of 12 members of the Chicago team and
text stating this bill is good for a 2% discount on purchases total-
ing $5 or more, Likely a unique Minnesota baseball ad note. Un-
listed in Hewitt reference. The note grades Fine + with an expert
repair on the top left corner of a triangular piece approximate-
ly 3/4 inches and a few small edge tears or faults, still a very rare

Runyon, Mayor of Newark and Civil War Brigadore General, This
is a cut cancelled sheet of (2) $50.00, (1) $100.00 and (1) $200.00
Civil War Bounty Bonds from the Mayor and Common Council of
the City of Newark. Bonds issued a mere 3 weeks prior to the end
of the American Civil War and a month to the day of the death of
President Abraham Lincoln. Each certificate is signed by the then
Mayor of Newark, NJ, Theodore Runyon (October 29, 1822 – Jan-
uary 27, 1896) a United States politician, diplomat, and American
Civil War Brigadier General in the New Jersey Militia, serving with
the Union Army at the Battle of First Bull Run, first president of the
Manufacturers’ National Bank of Newark, chancellor of New Jersey
for 14 years and, between 1893 and 1896, envoy and later ambas-
sador to Germany. Crisp VF condition and cut cancelled, rare and
attractive.������������������������������������������������������������������������Est.
