WWI Army Veteran. 9.75 by 13.25 inches, printed on both sides,
black text and title on green border with red seal on bottom right
“Veterans Bureau” with eagle and flags, Certificate # 2143974, Back
is orange with eagle over title of bond in middle and the right side
has patriotic portrait of soldiers holding raised flag on hill. VF condi<
tion. This certificate was commonly known as the “Bonus Act” and
was awarded to veterans who served in WWI between April 5, 1917
and July 1, 1919, to be held for 20 years, similar to an insurance pol<
icy. Due to the depression in the 1930’s many veterans wanted to
cash their certificates early and in 1932 the “Bonus Army” marched
on Washington. Extremely rare bond with only 4 known to the cat<
aloger and 3 are in strong hands, this may be your only chance. No

1942, $50 Issued, Cancelled and Reissued Bond.

Eagle on each coupon, back brown with standing Liberty, Tehee |
Mcadoo signatures, S/N B 02512272, rare bond and this example has
a unique story, it was cancelled by mistake, the owners requested it
to be reinstated which it was and typed and signed on the back in
1979 by the Acting Director, Division of Securities Operations, U.S.
Treasury department, “This is to certify that the perforations in this
security and in coupons no. 19 dated 11<15<27 through no.49 dated
11<15<42 don not impair its validity”. that rarely appears in auction.
BEP. The bond itself is in Choice Fine condition with POC’s on the
right, the coupons are all taped and stapled together, Rare bond
with unique revalidation on back.

December 26, 1814 Treasury Note, $100, 1814, TN<8a, Unissued and
cut cancelled, PMG graded Good 4 NET with note of pieces missing,
repaired and splits. Missing left and right counterfoil area as well as
the portion with the shield and flags on the bottom, still an extreme<
ly rare note with only 3 known. A space filler that we will be difficult
if not impossible to improve upon.
