575 Philippine Watermark Experimental Paper on 1929 ABN

New York, 1929. American Bank Note
Company, “10 Denomination. Specimen Note”. Unfinished speci-
men with back completely printed in black and the face with m/c
undertint only without black border, vignette and title printing.
Evidently this was used as a test note for security watermarks for
the “Central Bank of the Philippines”. Found on the back of the note
are very faint “1” and “Central Bank of the Philippines” watermarks
or security ink under prints. On the face, there is also a very light yel-
low watermark in the place of the vignette of a small circle with man
turning the Unique in this format. The only example available.

Philippines, lot of 101 issued notes, including notes from the
Philippine National Bank (5 Pesos, P-53), Commonwealth (1 Peso, P-
81, 2 pcs), Central Bank of the Philippines (20 Centavos, P-130; 1
Peso, P-133), a few unusual guerilla notes from the Municipal
Government of Malitbog, while the remainder is a large group of
various Japanese invasion notes including 5 Centavos, P-103, AU-
UNC (67 pcs), along with a 1 Peso and two 5 Peso notes from the
same issue, two 1 Rupee notes, and finally a set of 1 Cent (3 pcs), 5
Cents (2 pcs), 10 Cents, 50 Cents (2 pcs), 1 Dollar (7 pcs), 5 Dollars (2
pcs inc. one UNC), 10 Dollars, and 100 Dollars (2 pcs inc. one almost
XF). This lot needs inspection as it includes many varieties. Sold as
