& Hanks, was formed in 1847 and shortly

after changed its name to Wellstood,

Hanks, Hay & Whiting (ca.1848-49). Unique

artwork from this historic and pioneer

banknote engraving firm that in 1858 was

merged with American Bank Note Company.

full of barrels, the design is 3 inches by 1.25 inches painted on thin

cardboard, 7 by 4 1/4 inches, Evidence of previous mounting on

back, the face appear in excellent condition. Wellstood, Benson &

Hanks, was formed in 1847 and shortly after changed its name to

Wellstood, Hanks, Hay &Whiting (ca.1848-49). Unique artwork from

this historic and pioneer banknote engraving firm that in 1858 was
