lated with very light toning on the topmiddlemargin edge. Possi-
bly used or was planned to be used on Chinese banknotes. ABNC.

China, Lot of 2 Proof printed by ABNC, Both
are printed on india paper on large card, neither has imprint or
identification. Further research required. Both are engraved
and printed by ABNC. Uncirculated with toning spots on card,

1589 Proof Vignette, “Entrance To Temple” From ABNC Archives.
China, ND (ca.1920’s), “Entrance toTemple” proof vignette print-
ed in black on india paper that is unmounted, Image has ornate
entrance to temple with tree on right, 3 by 3.75 inches, Imprint on
bottom has “C-1474 American Bank Note Co., NY”, the vignette
appears uncirculated but there is an internal bend to the left of
the temple image away from design. Early and very attractive ar-
chival production proof used in the design of Chinese banknotes.

China. Spanish Indenture or work agreement contract between
Cuban businessmen and Chinese workers for an 8 year contract.
The front of the document is entirely in Spanish with a image of
Chinese workers in front of factory, the second page has payment
signatures and the 3rd page is entirely in Chinese. Rare and early
