U.S. designed and produced advertising cards, business cards, letter heads and bill heads offered by a German printing company, Joseph Heim, from Leipzig and Wien, as samples of American work. Evidently they represented the American companies in Europe as (American Mercantile Work), the card is 12 x 9.5 inches with card designs from St. Louis, Atlanta Georgia, and includes Fancy groceries, Steamboat excursions, foundry and others. 6 different card and letterhead designs are included on the sheet. VF condition and printed in dark red and black. Included in lot is an informative letter from Portals Ltd., with the history of Elizabeth’s relationship with Prince Philip, which also incudes a watermark of an early English gentleman on the top of the sheet. Souvenir Silk Handkerchief intaglio printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, commemorating the Louisiana Purchase Exposition in St. Louis, 26 cm x 27 cm, featuring a portrait of Theodore Roosevelt at top center flanked by American flags, Ornate embroidery throughout and on edges. VF condition with some stains, still in good condition for its age. The Louisiana Purchase Exposition, informally known as the St. Louis World’s Fair, was an international exposition held in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, from April 30 to December 1, 1904. Local, state, and federal funds totaling $15 million were used to finance the event. More than 60 countries and 43 of the then-45 American states maintained exhibition spaces at the fair, which was attended by nearly 19.7 million people.
