The check is an engraved UB&S design with a seated allegorical wman painting in the top middle with cameo heads on the left counterfoil. Choice VG to FIne condition with extensive writing on the check with ink-burn in the middle left leaving a small hole. The draft was evidently given to someone in Pennsylvania who tried to cash it at the Girard Bank in Philadelphia where they found there were no funds in the account. Interesting draft and legal document. The design of the draft is similar to obsolete banknotes issued at that time period by UB&S who also probably printed obsolete banknotes as well as exchanges and drafts for the C. and R.R. Bank of Vicksburg. UB&S. Est. $200-350
