Grove City, Pennsylvania, (Inc. in Delaware). October 4th, 1917. 180 Shares, I/U Common Stock Certificate, Black on green border and underprint, Progress vignette of Native Americans making something by hand with industrial city in background, S/N 252, toning on borders and on interior, still a very attractive stock certificate. First time offered by us and from an old estate. The Bessemer Motor Truck Company based in Grove City in the US state of Pennsylvania built commercial vehicles from 1911 to 1926 with 0.75 to 3.5 tons Payload . These vehicles had four-cylinder engines and initially chain drive that were soon superseded by cardan drive designs. In 1923 there was a merger with the American Motors Corporation in Plainfield , New Jersey (no relation to the later AMC ) to form the Bessemer-American Motors Corporation. In 1926, the year production stopped, new models with six-cylinder engines and a payload of up to 4 tons appeared. The brand name was always Bessemer and Continental engines were used throughout. ND (ca.1910-20) Specimen <100 Shares Capital Stock Certificate, Black print on orange border and under tint, allegorical women at top flanking company initials, Specimen overprints and POC’s, VF-XF condition, RBNC. The REO Motor Car Company was a Lansing, Michigan-based company that produced automobiles and trucks from 1905 to 1975. At one point the company also manufactured buses on its truck platforms. Ransom E. Olds was an entrepreneur who founded multiple companies in the automobile industry. In 1897 Olds founded the Olds Motor Vehicle Company, makers of Oldsmobile (later to become a part of General Motors). In 1905 Olds left Oldsmobile and established a new company, REO Motor Car Company, in Lansing, Michigan. Olds had 52 percent of the stock and the titles of president and general manager. To ensure a reliable supply of parts, he organized a number of subsidiary firms like the National Coil Company, the Michigan Screw Company, and the Atlas Drop Forge Company. ���� Est. $90-180
