Lot of 3 similar bonds, all are 1907, $1000, I/U 4% Collateral Trust Gold Bonds, Black on orange border and underprint, Steamship traveling almost straight on with ships in the background. All are in excellent condition but each has minor rust spots on the horizontal middle fold, otherwise they are in VF condition with the usually folds as made. ABNC. The Consolidated Steamship Lines was incorporated in Maine, on January 1, 1907, as a holding company, owning a majority of the capital stock of the Eastern Steamship Co., Metropolitan Steamship Co., Clyde Steamship Co., and Mallory Steamship Co., and shortly afterwards of the New York & Cuba Mail Steamship Co., and the New York & Porto Rico Steamship Co., of Maine. These bonds were issued when the company was incorporated. Usually found as stock certificates, rarely as bonds.
