Coin assortment.... 3 coins: Hawaii 50th State 1959 commemorative coin, 2.5 x 2.5 inches, Obverse features a map of Hawaiian Islands with “The Aloha State” at top, Reverse features Seal of Hawaii, with 1959 date at top, which was the year the state was admitted to the Union; Great Alaskan Flood 1967 commemorative coin, Obverse features depicted of the flood with “Great Alaskan Flood” at top and “August 14-20, 1967” at bottom, Reverse features Walter J. Hickel, Governor of Alaska, and Ernest Gruening, U.S. State Senator portraits and “There Will Always Be A Fairbanks” at top, VF condition; War of 1812 Captain Lewis Warrington Bronze plated copper medal, Obverse features a profile of Lewis Warrington, with Latin inscription surrounding, Reverse shows a depiction of naval battle with Latin inscription at top and bottom. Lewis Warrington (November 1782 – 12 October 1851) was an officer in the United States Navy during the Barbary Wars and the War of 1812. He temporarily served as the Secretary of the Navy, probably a relatively modern reproduction. (3) ����������������������������������������������������������������������� Est. $80-140 New York 537 537 United Spanish War Veterans Souvenir 1913 Medal Buffalo, New York.... 10th National Encampment, September 1913 souvenir medal with “Delegate” red and orange ribbon connecting two pieces of metal. Top piece features a buffalo atop a scene of the Battle of Lake Erie, bottom piece is a circular medal with “United Spanish War Veterans” surrounding a trio of figures at center. Minted by Bastian Bros Co., located in Rochester, New York. The United Spanish War Veterans was an organization which consisted of American veterans of the Spanish-American War, the Philippine- American War and the China Relief Expedition. Soon after the Spanish-American War ended, in early 1899, discharged veterans formed fraternal societies to keep in touch with their former comrades. ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ Est. $70-120 538 538 United States WW I & WW II Service Medal Quartet New York.... Lot of 4 medals: American Legion School Award, olive and navy ribbon, Pair of soldiers on obverse with “For God & Country” surrounding, obverse features an eagle atop “American Legion School Award” print; New York Faithful Service Medal, “Excelsior” and eagle at center, surrounded by various arms all held within a 5 pointed star. reverse is blank except for “3957” and mint mark. This piece was awarded for satisfactory active service in various New York State regiments; Parachute badge with blue background, golden figure at center with naval anchor below, wings to left and right, and parachute at top; “U.S.T.A.” golden medal with red and white ribbon. Hatters Merchant Token, ca. 1850s Cincinnati, Ohio…. 1850a. Dodd & Co. Hatters Merchant token, Allegorical liberty with “Dodd” in headpiece, “Cincinnati, Main St.” surrounding, 144 at bottom. Reverse features an eagle with American shield. Rare trade token. Includes: 1798 Large U.S. Cent in poor condition, difficult to see details from wear; 1789 Connecticut copper coin, difficult to see details; 1853, 3 Cent silver coin, The three-cent coin was proposed in 1851 both as a result of the decrease in postage rates from five cents to three and to answer the need for a small-denomination, easy-to-handle coin. The three-cent silver featured a shield on a six-sided star on the obverse and the Roman numeral III on the reverse; 1865, 2 Cent coin, Obverse with shield, Reverse with wheat wreath. The economic turmoil of the American Civil War caused government- issued coins, even the non-silver Indian Head cent, to vanish from circulation, hoarded by the public. One means of filling this gap was private token issues, often made of bronze; 1876 coin, Obverse with seated liberty, reverse with difficult to decipher marks; 18-- Trinidad Chapter No. 28 1 Penny coin, may be from a Freemason Chapter in Trinidad, Colorado.
