Lot of 3 items: World War II Canadian Paratrooper Jump Wing pin, parachute with wings and maple leaf on front “William Scully” engraved on back; Master Parachutist badge pin, silver thread on black background, pair of pins on back; Master Parachutist badge pin in silver on a red and white fabric background, pair of pins on back. (3) ���������������������������������������������� Est. $35-55 Czechoslovakia 1069 1069Julius Fučík Commemorative Medal Czechoslovakia2.75 x 2.75 inch commemorative medal with a profile of Julius Fucik looking left, “JULIUS FUCIK” and “LIDE BDETE” surrounding at bottom. Medal is in a red case, with red velvet underneath. Julius Fucik was a Czechoslovak journalist, critic, writer, an active member of Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, and part of the forefront of the anti-Nazi resistance. He was imprisoned, tortured, and executed by the Nazis. The composer Luigi Nono wrote a musical piece titled Julius Fučík based on the journalist’s diary Notes from the Gallows and meant it as a tribute to his resilience in the face of Nazi aggression. ����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� Est. $50-100 East Germany 1070 1070East German Pin and Coin Trio East Germany. Lot includes 3 pieces, all are held in protective blue cases. One includes an FDJ pin with logo at center, with blue rectangle on either side. The FDJ was the Free German Youth, a youth movement in Germany. Same box also holds an East German Socialist Labor pin, East German flag at top, hanging below is the East German Emblem surrounded by golden rays. Second box contains a 10 Jahre coin, obverse features a compass and other engineering symbols, reverse features 1969-1979 date with German text surrounding the outside. Lot of 2 pieces: Medal for the Merit of the Finnish Cross of Liberty, 2nd class 1941, Green, red and black ribbon, Lion with sword on obverse with Finnish writing; “Suomen Kansalta, 1941” written on reverse; 1939-1940 Winter War Medal, Red and black ribbon with snow- covered rifleman surrounded by eight provincial coat of arms of Finland on obverse, reverse has an embossed conifer wreath around the border, with “KUNNIA ISANMAA” on back. Germany. Lot of 2 pieces, both are Hans Beimler awards adhered to red velvet backdrops protected by plastic. Both feature a portrait of Beimler, one with “BMK Erfurt Company School” in German at top, the other with “Friend and Role Model of Youth” in German at top. The Hans Beimler Medal was a GDR decoration. The medal was instituted on 17 May 1956 and was awarded to East Germans who fought in the Spanish civil war on the side of the republicans. The medal was named after Hans Beimler, the first commissar of the German Communist contingent and the XI International Brigade in Spain. The medal was presented in the name of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers. Hamza Hakimzade Niyazi was the first Soviet Uzbekian poet, Philosopher, Musician and founder of the Uzbekian Theatre.
