All related to the United States Internal Revenue collections, highlights include: 1865 Issued tax payment; 1864 Issued tax payment; 1866 Income Tax payment; and a trio of estate tax payments from the Office of the Collector of Internal Revenue. Lot includes over 10 pieces. The Internal Revenue Service is the revenue service of the United States federal government. The government agency is a bureau of the Department of the Treasury, and is under the immediate direction of the Commissioner of Internal Revenue, who is appointed to a five-year term by the President of the United States. (15) ���������������������������������������������������� Est. $120-200 Security Printer Ephemera New York 979 979 ABN Purchase of Franklin Lee BNC, 1904 Purchase Contract & Documents Group of 8. NY. December 30, 1904. Letter to Warren L. Green, president of American Banknote Company, about the purchase of Franklin-Lee Bank Note Company, with Corporate stock sale agreements from the shareholders. This is a detailed, several-page document which outlines the “plan of procedure” regarding the transfer of this major printing entity. Also included in this lot are several pages of shareholder asset transfers, including financial details, as well as witness signatures granting approval to the sale. Warren L Green (1855-1919) was a nephew of James Macdonough, who served as the company’s president from 1887 until 1906. Green was vice president of ABNC, and from 1906-1919 he served as the company’s president. Green oversaw the merging of all domestic subsidiaries into the parent company, and the conversion of the company into a corporation, which involved the formation of the United Bank Note Corporation, which was a holding company created to acquire stock in the ABNC. The two corporations merged in 1911 under Green’s leadership. VF. (From the John E. Ltd., 1976 One-Piece Box Packaging Manual with Real Photographs for Box Assembly Manual from Bradbury Wilkinson & Co. regarding a new type of packing case for the secure dispatch of currency notes. Photographic pages show the ‘one-piece box’ in various stages of packing. This new type of box was designed with four main features: Security, Strength, Lightness, and Re-use. Photographs are bound in a navy booklet embossed with Bradbury Wilkinson & Co.’s logo at the top. VF condition. The boxes were designed to hold either 50,000 or 100,000 notes. Bradbury Wilkinson & Co were an English engraver and printer of banknotes, postage stamps and share certificates.
