Both are printed in black on the front and have elaborate lathe work in light brown on the back with the bank’s title. The Bordentown Banking Company was incorporated in 1851. It operated honestly (i.e., conservatively) and continued operating as a private bank into the 1900s. The $1 note has a central vignette showing an early train, the State Arms of NJ at the lower left, and a portrait vignette of a male at the lower right. The design is similar to Wait 90, but it has a different imprint. The $2 note has a central vignette of men with horses crossing a railroad, with a train in the distance. The note is similar to Wait 93, but it has a different imprint. The $10 note has a central vignette of the State Arms of NJ flanked by two native Americans with a child at left and a woman teaching three children with a globe at the right. The note is completely unissued, with no serial numbers or signatures. It is similar to Wait 98, but it has a different imprint. All with ABN imprint.
