The main picture on the right is a pavilion, and the denomination of 5 jiao is on the left. Text on the right is the year of printing 1939, and the text at the bottom means “every 10 jiao could be exchanged into 1 yuan issued by this bank”. The seals are from the manager and vice manager. Two seals appear on the back, one is the denomination ad the other is the official seal of the Wuzhai County Bank. The number 3430 could be a serial number. 山西省五寨縣銀號兌換 券伍角，1939年發行。正面主景為亭子，側面為“民國二十八年印”，下方 文字為“每拾角兌本號幣壹圓”。印章為經理與副經理章。背面有“伍角” 及“五寨縣銀號”印章。號碼3430可能是流水號。 �������������������������������������� Est. $50-100 140 140 NingwuCounty Bank 1940 exchange note 2 jiao. 1940年寧武縣銀 號兌換券貳角 China, A 2 jiao exchange note issued by the Ningwu County Bank in Shanxi Province in 1940. The main picture on the right is a ceremonial gate, and the denomination of 2 jiao is on the left. Text on both sides means “good for all public and private debts”, and text at the bottom is the year of printing 1940. The seals are from the manager and vice manager. The serial number is A04311. 山西省寧武縣銀號兌換券 貳角，1940年發行。正面主景為牌坊，下方為“中華民國二十九年印”，兩 側文字為“公私款項一律通用”。印章為經理與副經理章。流水號為A04311 。 ��������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� Est. $40-80 141 141 Cultivation Bank of Sichuan and Xikang 1943 coupon 400 yuan. 1943年川康殖業銀行禮券肆佰元 China, A coupon of 400 yuan issued by the Cultivation Bank of Sichuan and Xikang. The main picture in the face is a building. Texts on top are the bank name and “coupon”, and text in the center is “national currency 400 yuan”. Texts on the sides are “payment upon coupon” and “no lost claiming”. The serial number is 01031. The purple seal says “payment completed”. The back side shows the description of the issuance, with a date of Aug 1943 and signatures and seals of the managers. 1943年川康殖業銀行發行之禮券四百元。正面主景為大樓，中央 文字為“國幣肆佰元整”，兩側為“憑券付款，概不掛失”。下方有流水號 01031。中部蓋有紫色“付訖”章。背面為發行使用方法，及發行時間1943 年8月，經理簽名印章。 ����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� Est. $40-80 142 142 4th District of Ji County temporary currency, 1937, 5 yuan. 民國 二十六年（1937）冀縣第四區暫行流通券伍圓 Hebei Province, China. A temporary currency of 5 yuan issued by the Market Maintenance Association of 4th District of Ji County, Hebei Province in Dec 1937. The front side shows a pavilion, with text on the left showing the date and on the right saying “exchange to official currency after 1 year”. The texts on the bottom indicate the issuer and the printer. The back side shows notifications and regulations, with a seal of the association. 民國二十六年 （1937）河北省冀縣第四區維持金融委員會發行之暫行流通券五元。正面左 側有亭子圖，及發行時間民國二十六年舊十二月。右側有“限期一年換取國 幣”字樣，下方為發行方與印刷廠名。背面中心有委員會大印，兩側為注意 事項。 ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ Est. $45-75 143 143 Anhua County Chenfusheng Bank, 1933, 1 jiao banknote. 民國 二十二年（1933）安化諶福生錢莊壹角 Hunan Province, China. A local banknote of 1 jiao issued by the private Chenfusheng Bank in Anhua County, Hunan Province in 1933. The front side depicts a pagoda, with denomination on both sides. Top texts show the bank name, and the bottom texts are “be aware of fakes”, the issuing date and name of the printer. The English text on top of the back side is difficult to understand.
