Italy, 1925. 10 Shares I/U Certificate, Black and red print with olive and red border and green underprint, Orange border with scenes of Italy at top right and Statue of Liberty at top left, Fine condition with reinforced folds, Banca d’America ed Italia was an Italian- chartered bank active in the early 20th century that maintained a U.S. presence— centered in New York City—to support Italian-American trade, finance, and remittances during the post–World War I period. Part of a broader interwar effort by Italian banks to access American capital and trade networks, the institution facilitated commercial credit, currency exchange, and cross-border payments before regulatory changes and consolidation led to its disappearance by the late 1920s, making surviving share certificates scarce remnants of Italy’s short-lived U.S. banking footprint. The bearer share itself is richly engraved in a neoclassical style, featuring a heraldic eagle with laurel and oak branches, American and Italian symbolic vignettes including the Statue of Liberty, and extensive guilloche ornamentation, with attached dividend coupons below—an impressive design intended to project financial solidity, international reach, and permanence. Est. $120-180 Mexico 330 330 Mexico.
