Small group of original printed ephemera relating to the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, including folded invitation brochures, admission or introduction cards, and informational leaflets promoting International Correspondence Schools and its Guild Hall in the Model City at the St. Louis World’s Fair. Items feature engraved illustrations of the Guild Hall building, descriptive text outlining student services and exhibits, and blank or partially completed admission sections. Printed in blue and black ink on light cardstock or paper. AU to Uncirculated with very light toning. A cohesive and attractive group documenting educational promotion at the 1904 World’s Fair. Uncut sheet of two Blake, Ward & Co. 2nd & 3rd Exchange drafts with an architectural vignette; an 1853, Eaton, Ohio, issued Eaton and Hamilton Railroad Co. stock certificate, poor condition; 1896, Virginia City, Montana. a Charles W. Mead Assay Office assay certificate with handwritten entries of silver and gold assayed; 1887, San Francisco, Office of the Assistant Treasurer U.S. government payment certificate; a 1902, issued Calaveras County Bank check with stampings, and the matching addressed envelope. Designs feature period bank buildings, commercial structures, and engraved railroad forms. Conditions range from Fair to Uncirculated, with typical wear on issued pieces and light handling on the unused sheets. (8).
