Includes two $500 Refunding Bonds dated 1883, printed in green with ornate borders and central vignette of a mountain mining valley; and one $50 Refunding Bond dated 1893 with black border and gold overprint. Each carries embossed or punched cancellations and engraved seal details, printed by Franklin Bank Note Co., New York. Attractive territorial pieces issued less than a decade before South Dakota statehood. Fine to VF condition with folds and punch cancels as issued. (3). Several examples show evidence of cancellation, filing, or transfer annotations consistent with archival use.
