Lot of 15+ items, including engraved proof vignettes, trial designs, and manuscript documents relating to Colombian banknote production. Highlights include mounted proof portraits of national leaders in various colors; engraved title panels reading República de Colombia; proofs of banknote denominations (2 and 10 Pesos) with security borders; and an engraved octagonal design for Mil Pesos. Also present are 19th-century handwritten letters with Imprinted Revenue impressions, bearing correspondence and calculations, likely related to financial or printing matters. Several envelopes and archival file mounts are annotated with printer’s reference numbers and dates (including National Bank Note Co. and later archival notes). An exceptional and historically important grouping illustrating both the production process of Colombian banknotes and the connection between banknote engravers and national institutions. Condition ranges from Good (documents with toning, edge losses) to Choice Proofs (crisp, clean impressions on india paper by themselves or mounted on Manila envelopes or cards).
