Welcome to the Sale
On behalf of the entire Archives International Auctions team, I would like to personally welcome you to our
twenty-first exciting auction we have held over the last seven years. We are offering over 1400 lots of U.S. and Worldwide
Banknotes, Coins, Scripophily, Autographs, Security Printing Ephemera, Historic artifacts and Documents over a two day
period. We are privileged to be the host auctioneer for the Fourth Annual Wall Street Coin, Currency, Scripophily and
Collectibles Show being held at the Museum of American Finance located at 48 Wall Street in New York City.
The sale begins with The First Hour which includes historic objects, ephemera and artwork including generous donations
from Tiffany and Baccarat; an 1893 Historic Edison Light Bulb used in his famous patent trial as well as a Gold Rush Era
N.Currier Lithograph. The first auction session is being held at the Museum of American Finance in New York City,
scheduled for Saturday, October 25th, 2014 and includes the First Hour, Autographs, historic ephemera and U.S. &
Worldwide Scripophily in 449 lots. The railroad scripophily section consist of over 170 lots of Issued, Specimen and group
lots with many rare certificates being offered, some for the first time, as well as hundreds of other desirable U.S. &
Worldwide Bonds & Shares.
The second and third sessions, scheduled for Tuesday, November 4th, 2014, at our offices in Fort Lee, New Jersey include
U.S. & Worldwide banknotes, Security Printing Ephemera & U.S. and Worldwide Coins & Medals. The Worldwide Banknote
section consists of close to 500 lots of rare and desirable banknotes. The sale is highlighted by a sequential pair of Palestine
Currency Board £10, 1939, PMG graded Choice Uncirculated 64 banknotes; a 1973 Pakistan presentation book of 5
Specimen banknotes; a circa 1860’s British American Banknote Company advertising sheet and an impressive Bradbury
Advertising sheet-calendar from the same time period; an 1860’s Assistant Treasurer of the U.S., Gold Coin Certificate uncut
pair, Hessler X 134-F; three different F.R.N. 1934 D, Specimen Banknotes with “00000000’ Serial numbers; an uncut sheet
of 6 Alexander City 1929 Type 2 National Banknotes; a 1902 Serial #1 National Banknote, Freeport National B&T Co.,
Freeport, NY and hundreds of other desirable banknotes and Security printing Ephemera lots.
The U.S. & Worldwide Coins & Medals, featuring the “Connecticut Collection” consists of close to 300 lots of coins and
medals from an old Connecticut estate that includes coins that have been off the market for close to 50 years. Highlights
include a superb 1885 Cleveland Indian Peace Medal, Julian IP-46, Bronze, NGC graded MS 65 and possibly the finest
known with only 30 pieces struck in Bronze; hundreds of foreign coins with many offered in group lots that should be
carefully inspected and will contain numerous surprises; a Newfoundland, 20 cents, 1904H graded AU 55; a large group of
Palestine coins being offered in single lots to large group lots; a 1901-S VDB & 1909-S that are both NGC graded MS 63
RB; 24 lots of U.S. Commemoratives with many uncirculated examples; U.S. & foreign mint sets, proof sets and type coins
in single item lots to multiple group lots; U.S. & Foreign Medals with dozens of interesting and rare varieties that are sure to
attract attention from the “Connecticut Collection”, and dozens of other rare and interesting lots that should appeal to the
beginning to advanced collector as well as dealer.
We are looking forward to another exciting auction and hope you enjoy our current offerings. We are in the planning stages
of our next Hong Kong auction scheduled for late January, 2015 and the “Rudolph Laubenheimer Archives” in February 2015
featuring his artwork, dating from the 1830’s to 1900’s showing every aspect of his development as an artist and engraver
as well as his son’s work, Ernst Laubenheimer. If you have suitable material, we are still seeking consignments for our
upcoming 2015 auctions. I would like to thank everyone who has participated in our previous auctions and has helped make
