Unlisted Discovery Note.
Lima, Peru, March 31, 1874, 10 Soles,
Serie E, P<Unlisted, Issued and cancelled, Black on green underprint,
Reclining allegorical woman on bales on barrels with train and ships
in background, back with small 60 interest coupons, 7 with
“Pagado” overprinted on them, 7 x 3 1/8 inches, POC’s at signature
blocks, S/N 2201, VF with toning, a 3/4 inch stain on the upper left
border area, a couple of small edge tears but overall very attractive
and rare. We have previously handled a Brown version of this same
note. Rare if not unique Interest Bearing banknote. Listed in middle
as “Una Accion de a Diaz Soles”. PMG gave the previous note the
catalog designation “Pick# SUNL 10a”, NBNC. A trophy note for the
Peru specialist and very possibly the only opportunity to purchase it.

ABNC. This is a banknote sized photographic proof evidently used
as a model with a second version with archival production depart<
ment notes. Evidently this ABNC version never went into produc<
