(ca.1870’s) written entirely in German, 5.75 x 3.5 inches, also includ-
ed as a photograph mounted under class and framed. Johannes
Brahms, (1833 – 1897), was a German composer and pianist, and one
of the leading musicians of the Romantic period. Born in Hamburg,
Brahms spent much of his professional life in Vienna, Austria, where
he was a leader of the musical scene. In his lifetime, A virtuoso
pianist, he premiered many of his own works; he also worked with
some of the leading performers of his time. Many of his works have
become staples of the modern concert repertoire. Brahms, an
uncompromising perfectionist, destroyed many of his works and
left some of them unpublished. .....................................

dition. Cooper was an industrialist and U.S Presidential candidate in
1876. He also started the Cooper Union for the Advancement of
Science and Art (1848), an open admission free college for both and
women that took into consideration the working class by keeping
the library open till 10pm unlike the nearby Astor and Mercantile
