London. ND, ca.1930-50’s. “One” denomination.

Face features Thomas de la Rue at center printed in blue on multicolor

underprint. Back somewhat resembling the back of a small size US

Dollar bill with “DLR” instead of “ONE”. Intaglio printed, Choice

to Gem Uncirculated condition. TDLR. This is the first time we have

offered this variety of sample note and also a look-a-like Silver Certificate

with text describing their printing services including “Manufacturers of

Banknotes, Bonds, Stamps and all other High-Class Securities”. Portrait

of woman on left with ornate frames and borders of note. Uniface. CU

920 American Bank Note Company French Advertising Card

France

and U.S., 1910-20’s. 4 page advertising pamphlet from ABNC for

their French offices. Front page has ABNC eagle logo on to with text

touting the quality of their work in French, inside pages have vignettes

of Washington, Dom Pedro (Brazil), another old notable guy and

an allegorical woman standing on winged wheel that was used on

Czechoslovakia banknotes. Back page has a blue advertising note with

Paul Revere flanked by allegorical figures similar to the ones used on the

1917 Canadian Bank of Commerce Series. VF to XF condition. ABNC.
