87 CSA, 1864 $5 note with Interesting Notation on Back.

Virginia. $5, Issued banknote, Low serial# 1220back has handwritten in

ink “is note will be paid when Pigs begin to fly - Yours Truly, C.H. White,

P.M. (Post Master), Greely, Colorado, Oct. 24, 1885”. Nice collateral post

Civil War political statement. He may have received this note as payment

or just wanted to make a humorous statement. VF condition. ����Est.

Georgia. Lot of 10 notes in a souvenir booklet tied to old New

York document, front cover with 50 cents 1864 C.S.A. note. Also includes

1864 issues, $5 to $100 and two different varieties of 1862 notes. Also

included is an unissued $10 Bank of Augusta and $5 State of Georgia

North and West to Florida and the South is via Atlanta, GA - Don’t forget

Lot of 4 items, Includes 1864 (1881) $5 Confed. Note

used for advertising General Railroad Ticket Office, Atlanta Georgia,

printed in red on back; 2 different 1864, $10 notes, one as issued in XF-

AU with ink mark on back and the second with Civil War Poem printed

in black on back “A Relic of the “Lost Cause”. Also included is an 1864

Depositary’s Office, Columbus, Mississippi, Unissued, 4%; with rough

outer edges on top and bottom including small pieces missing, the back

includes 3/4ths of an impression of and 183x, Columbus, Mississippi,

12 1/2cents scrip note with eagle printed on a light orange under print.
