France. Paris Mint

(Cornucopia BRONZE edge mark). 68mm. Maiden voyage medal

for one of the grandest ocean liners of the 20th century. Female

standing with hippocamp on obverse, Ship profile on reverse. Jean

Vernon, sc. The Slightest patina rub on the female’s breast. A very

nice example. Extremely Fine.��������������������������������������������� Est.

United States. Society’s seal on one side and a high relief 3/4

rendering of the Central Park West building on the other. Bronze,

63mm. Struck by Medallic Art Co. R.J. Menconi, sc. Nice even patina.

Signing of the declaration of independence above ribbon, eagle on

shield,Columbus andWashington flanking below ribbon.The reverse

shows the Landing of Columbus and the landing of the Pilgrims. Pot

metal, plated? 40mm, reeded edge. Signed RL in the corner, very

probably not attributable to Rudolf Laubenhauber. Extremely Fine

but a weak strike on the reverse ribbon’s legend.�������������������Est.

We are proud to offer part 1 of the Russian Banknote

Reference Collection of the Alexander I Pogrebetsky

Family Archives that featured Chinese, Asian and Russian

Banknotes. The following notes have never been offered

previously at auction and have been held by the family

since Alexander’s death in the early 1950’s. The collection

was put together over Alexander’s lifetime before and

after he settled in China to escape the Russian Revolution

and the Communist takeover sometime after 1917.We will

be offering the second portion of the Pogrebetsky Family

Archives of Chinese and Asian banknotes on Monday,

December 14th, 2015.
