23 Imperial Bank of China, 1898 Dollar Issue, Shanghai Branch.

Shanghai. 22nd January, 1898. $1. P-A51 (S/M #C293-10a) Unlisted

uniface proof. Printed on off white banknote type of paper with

approximately 1 inch large margins around note. The right margin

has 4 different color bars in orange, rust, red and brown (the color

of the note). The back is blank. There is one vertical fold down the

middle, a very light diagonal fold on the bottom that barely touches

the LL border, a light fold on the UL corner far frame the border

printing and a light ink spot on the right margin away from the

design, otherwise the note looks AU. No serial numbers or other

markings and no POC’s. Rare note in any form and unlisted as proof

or specimen. Attractive dragons supporting shield vignette in middle

and ornate border and underprint. BFL printer. ��������������Est.

24 Ta Ch-Ing Government Bank, 1910 Proof Vignette used on 1910 ND Issue $100 Note.

China, 1910, $100, A82 S/M#T10-43, Intaglio

printed in Black on white proof paper, Amazing vignette of portrait

of Prince Chun on left, dragon in middle and farmers at right, This

was used as the entire central portion of the note, only missing

the border and denominations. This note was never issued and

is unpriced in the SCWPM. This may very well be the only way of

owning this note or at least a portion of it due to its rarity. It is intaglio

printed, not lithographed, Uncirculated to CU condition. Extremely

25 Bank of China, 1917 “Kalgan” Branch Issue Rarity.

Kalgan (Cyrillic

text), 50 cents, P-45c S/M#C294-74c, Issued banknote, Blue face

with red text, bridge with building, back orange, toning on the

lower right and left borders otherwise Uncirculated. BEPP. Rarely

seen branch issue and first time seen by cataloger. Extremely rare

note in any condition and possibly one of the finest known in this

condition. The note catalogs $5500 in XF in the SCWPM. This one of

two examples offered in this auction of this type and is sure to attract

26 Bank of Communications, 1923 “Fengtien Province” Issue

Banknote.

China, $1, P-131a, S/M#C126-150, Issued banknote,

Orange on m/c, Electric direct current generator at center, back

orange with sailing ship, S/N 239025, VG with a 1.5 inch horizontal

split in the middle and 1/2 inch splits on the left and right horizontal

middle from a strong fold, still an extremely rare banknote and the

first time handled by or firm. Only 1 previous note has been graded in
