235 New York Stock Exchange 1903 Medal and Additional Related MaterialAdvertising Medal that was privately commissioned
by Chas. Gregory & Co. 30 Broad St. NY. to Commemorate the
construction and opening of the new (and now iconic) New York
Stock Exchange building. SignedR. Laubenheimer at right bottomof
building façade. Iridescent tone under dull proof like surfaces. 38mm
Copper. Also included is a Lithograph on card stock of the façade
Compliment’s of the Corporation Trust Co. Folded and damaged. 2
pieces. This was one of the last ‘famous” medals Rudolph designed
and produced and its production was notorious for the number of
times the die proofs went back and forth between RL and CG. 80
Silver and 25o bronzes were struck and delivered along with the
dies to the client. The dies are now owned by the NY Numismatic
Society.The example offered here is a bronze working proof and was
not included in the 250 contract count. ������������������������������Est.
