415 Second Liberty Loan Converted 4 ¼% Gold Bond of 1927-1942 (issued May 9, 1918)

$50, Jefferson on top, permanent/long bond,

it feature a lovely gold under-print on the front, “it is indeed a

gold bond”, nicely embossed, with blue Treasury seal. The reverse

with “Miss Liberty” draped with “Old Glory”. Bond grades VF, with

mounting remnants and a minor paper pull on the reverse. This

would be lovely framed. ������������������������������������������������ Est.

Washington, D.C.,

November 15, 1917 (Act approved September 24, 1917, $50, 2nd

Liberty Loan 4%Gold Bond, Issued, 2 coupons attached, Jefferson on

top left, Liberty on each coupon, back brown with standing Liberty,

Tehee | Mcadoo signatures, S/N 3807329, PMG graded Very Fine 30

NET with a notation of a light water stain that does not detract from

the appearance, rare bond in any condition that rarely appears in

417 Third Liberty Loan 4 ¼% Gold Bond of 1928 (issued May 9, 1918)

$50, Jefferson on top, “temporary” bond with “cherry” red color,

highly embossed and retains three of the four original coupons.

Unbeknown to most collectors, these temporary bonds are a subset

of bonds that are amongst the scarcest; as once the 4th coupon

came due they were exchanged at no cost to the “long” bonds

that resumed this series. The reverse in dark chocolate brown color

features a classic American Bald Eagle and a strongly embossed
