Cyprus, 29th
may, 1940, 5/; Shillings, P;22, Issued banknote, King George VI in
middle, brown;violet and blue, S/N D/2 65973, PMG graded Very
Fine 30, attractive original note with large even margins and sharp
corners. Scarce note in higher grade.

Cyprus, ND (ca.1964;79), 500 Mils, P;42s Unlisted Color Trial
Banknote Specimen, purple on m/c instead of issued green on m/c,
Arms at right, back purple with mountain road lined with trees, No
date, Serial number or overprints other than SPECIMEN in red and
“Specimen of No Value” on upper left front and back margins plus
addition of “109”, POC, the note would have graded CU to Gem
Uncirculated but it was previously mounted and removed on the left
back margin which has left slightly translucent paper on the left
margin area, otherwise still extremely attractive and rare. BWC, no
imprint.

arms on right, S/N M/49 097543, PCGS graded Superb Gem New 67
PPQ, superb example for this popular modern issue that will be dif;
ficult to improve upon. The note catalogs $150 in average uncircu;
lated, this is far from average.

Banknote Specimen, orange on m/c instead of issued brown on m/c,
Arms at right, back orange;red with viaduct and pillars, No date,
Serial number or overprints other than SPECIMEN in red and
“Specimen of No Value” on upper left front and back margins plus
addition of “65” on back, POC, the note would have graded
Uncirculated to CU condition but it was previously mounted and
removed on the left back margin which has left slightly translucent
paper on the left margin area, otherwise still extremely attractive
and rare. BWC, no imprint.

Unlisted Proof, dark green;black instead of issued dark brown,
Portrait of Palacky at right with borders and under tint, but no text
or m/c denominations, back blank, printed on circle with stars
watermarked paper, 9.5 by 4.5 inches, Choice to Gem Uncirculated,
bottom imprints “M. Svanbinsky DEL ; K. Wolf SC;”, evidently the
designer and engraver. Rare partial proof of this attractive issue.
