m/c, Statue of Liberty at left, back red, S/N 086352. PMG graded Very

Fine 20 NET with note of foreign substance on note, still very attractive

Shanghai, China, 15th July 1920. $5 Local Currency. P-S236b, Shanghai

Branch, Issued banknote, Brown on m/c face with portrait of Statue

of Liberty in middle, Back is orange with shield. VG condition with

letter H on back, Serial # 346976. Rarely seen issued in any form

or condition due to the short time period this bank was in business.

Specimen banknote, Blue on brick red, “FIVE” underprint, Bank arms at

top center with facing lion and unicorn, back red with allegorical reaper

with sheaves and cherubs, S/N 205001-265000, printed signature, Pin-

punch Specimen, 1901 pencil notation on upper right, PMG graded Gem

Uncirculated 66 EPQ, Unlisted as specimen and the finest known of the

seven graded in the PMG census. An outstanding example of this note

Issued banknote, Blue yellow underprint, Bank arms at top center with

facing lion and unicorn, back dark red with allegorical reaper with

sheaves and cherubs, S/N 349108, printed and hand written signature,

PMG graded Choice Very Fine 35, the finest and only one graded in

the PMG census. Rare note that will enhance any advanced collection.

as specimen and the finest known of the 4 graded in the PMG census.
