The MontGomery Collection of Confederate Bonds & Fiscal Documents Novemebr 17, 2022

Official Grading Service Policy All Items offered in this auction are being offered ungraded by a third party and are original as found. We sell all third-party graded items AS-IS as well as the bonds and fiscal documents in this auction and there are no returns accepted for any reason unless incorrectly attributed. We have used very conservative grading for the bonds, stocks, and fiscal documents offered in this auction. The items are described and graded to the best of our abilities, but they have all been circulated and stored for decades and as a result, some may have issues that we have overlooked. Please understand that the items pictured cannot be returned due to condition issues. If they are incorrectly attributed, then we will accept returns on those items. We grade each note, bond, and stock in our sale based on our opinion and years of experience, and we expect you to use the same when buying in our sales. We accept no returns for any reason other than authenticity or mis-attribution for anyone who bids in person, on the telephone or has an agent bidding for them. Mail or internet bidders who have not previously inspected the items may return a lot within seven (7) days of receipt if they have paid for their lots within 10 days of the date of the sale. Anyone failing to pay within this time frame forfeits any return privilege. Items must be returned in the original labeled and undamaged holders, and may not have been removed or sent to any third party, thus allowing the item(s) to be out of the care, custody and control of the buyer, who then forfeits any right to return the item(s). In other words, if we send you (a mail or absentee bidder) a lot and you don’t think it is what you want, you can return it within the specified time frame noted above. If you (any bidder) want someone else (i.e. a third-party grading service) to view and grade the item, you cannot return it. If you buy a lot and send it elsewhere to be graded...you own it...period! No lot will ever be accepted for return that is not in our original, undamaged holder. Why is this my policy? I have over 40 years of experience grading currency and my opinions of grade are quite consistent, so I feel I know what I am doing and I try to do that to the best of my ability. I have the ability to use more than a single number to describe an item and its faults or strengths. I go to great lengths to inform the buyer what I see and what to expect. They can accept, or reject my opinion. When they reject my grading opinion too frequently, I suggest live participation, hiring a representative or buying elsewhere if we are not on the same page as far as grading is concerned. It is my pleasure to offer this fantastic collection of Confederate Bonds, Fiscal Documents, and a few other choice items that we were able to find in the wild and at shows and auctions. I hope everyone enjoys this opportunity to find many scarce bond types and varieties. No matter what criteria you use for your collecting desires, there are many choices for your pleasure.
