China, 1948, 250,000 Customs Gold Units, P-Unlisted (Listed as P-

pef and P-374peb), Uniface front and back proofs of essay
Central Bank of China note by Security BNC. Obverse of face has in
top margin in red “8-18-48” and “L-302-F”, Uniface front and backs
printed on planchetted security bank note paper. Face printed in
light nutmeg-brown, SYS in middle, Chinese Specimen overprint in
red, S/N 000000 and “00-A” Series, red signatures on bottom, back
of the face has “Approved for Production” with line that is not
endorsed. Reverse has red Specimen overprints, both have POC’s,
the back has a bank building in middle. Security Bank Note
Company on the bottom in small letters. The face is PMG graded
Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality) and the back
is PMG graded Superb Gem Uncirculated 67 EPQ (Exceptional
Paper Quality). Extremely rare note in high grade that will be diffi-

additional border with “DLRG - Varinota - Test” text on top and “De
La Rue Giori S.A.” on bottom, same design and color printed on
both sides, VF condition, Rare De La Rue Polymer test

Dr.Sun Yat Sen Proof Vignette Quartette (ca.1920’s) by
Robert Savage.
China, ND (ca.1920-30’s), Lot of 4 different color
portraits of SYS in brown, red, blue and gray-green, all are printed
on india paper that is unmounted, All are around 3.5 by 4 inches in
dimensions, Imprint on bottom of proof is “Dr.Sun Yat Sen - The
Central Bank of China - Special C486 V 42488 American Bank Note
Company”. Condition varies from Choice to Gem Uncirculated, but
one has a small thin far from vignette. Rare vignettes from Robert
Savage of SYS. Only 2 sets known of all 4 of these colors.

S/N 2C000000, Red Specimen oval in middle “Specimen De La Rue
Cancelled”, back gray-green with Yangtze Ganges at center, The
note appears in Choice Uncirculated but there are 4 very light verti-
cal folds due to previous archival storage and extremely light evi-
dence of previous mounting on right back margin edge, otherwise
this Gem VF to XF note has bright colors, Sharp corners and large
even margins. Rare note in any condition. TDLR. ........
