Lot of 2 Registered Specimen Bonds in different denominations and colors: $5000 in Gray and $10,000 in Purple, Both have same vignettes of locomotive, have Specimen overprints and POCs, are in VF to XF condition, and printed by ABNC. The Colorado and Southern Railway (C&S), founded in 1898, operated in Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico, serving mining towns and agricultural areas with both narrow and standard-gauge tracks. Known for its scenic mountain routes, the C&S became part of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad in 1908. Printed with black text on white india paper, includes the face of a $1000 Progress Proof 6% Mortgage Bond, intaglio printed with archival approval notes at the bottom; 2 intaglio printed Progress Proof coupon sheets; a Progress Proof bond back with approval signature and notes on bottom; and a small intaglio Coupon die proof with approval initials in pencil at bottom; all by American Bank Note Co., also includes a bond printing formwith relevant design and detailed information; and an envelope for relevant materials.
